3 appearances? As far as I know, only 2 are here.

  2. jgbennie says:

I suspect Cerf was Daly’s choice for host but he’s stiff and uncomfortable. Arlene Francis had hosted on radio and TV and should have done it here.
This is not the show for Ernie Kovacs. He’s spending all his time trying to be funny or silly and not playing the game. The panel ends up running out of time because he’s wasting it.
Cesar exudes class here and Julie London is stunning as always. And what a singer.

  3. weightfeather1 says:

My Mom always thought the sun rose and set with Caesar Romero, as she also did with Ricardo Montalban. Must be the Latin influence!

  4. TomBarristerX says:

Which producer are you referring to, Goodson or Todman?

If Goodson, which of his three wives did you know?

  5. xander7ful says:

I like Bennett but nobody could say “Sign in please!” like John Daly.

  6. tomkes100 says:

take it from this greatest of fans of WHATS MY LINE TomKes, with 500 episodes in my collection, having known Daly, Cerf&Francis, knowing the producers wife very well, rest assure the 52 clip of Romero like 200 others is long lost but we got this greatest of gameshows to recall. too bad game show ch cant put the show back on for future generations to view. I just love this show.

  7. itsjustanillusion says:

  17. harwetopa says:

You are correct…and her real-life husband, Bobby Troup, played Dr. Joe Early. Furthermore, Jack Webb, whose Mark VII studios produced Emergency, was her first husband.

  19. Gaygarious says:

    Why not the men, too?

  20. Muffy2314 says:

I think she played Nurse Dixie on Emerency in the 70’s

  21. RealTime88 says:

Yes I totally agree with you. Beauty with some class. Bennett Cerf was a really good guest host. He was very funny just like Mr. Daly and such a gentleman too.

  22. xxNIKEDAN63bb says:

Juile London was married to Jack Webb at one time and they had two Daughters toghter. After thier divorce, she married Bobby Troup and they starred toghter in the ’70’s TV show “Emergency” whiched Jack Webb created.

BC and EK got under each others’ skins that night. ( 0:17 ) ( 3:10 ) BC keeps giving EK looks that would kill at 50 paces. Apparently BC didn’t appreciate surreal humor.

One of the joys of the mystery guest spot was misidentified gender questions. Note that BC gets rid of that possibility with a comment at ( 0:51 ).

  24. soulierinvestments says:

GSN broadcast this episode on 24 Nov 2008. BC moderated this landmark broadcast with technical adequacy, but it is almost devoid of laughs. The audience laughed at DK when she missed a cue and at EK’ Abraham Lincoln Stanley Steamer gags. The panel failed to identify a toothpick designer, Henry Kaiser, and singer Julie London.
